[ Whatever it is, it has her looking up, the throwing knife she'd been wiping clean on her pants suddenly ready to be thrown. She doesn't say anything, just waits. ]
[The sound, close to a rush of air and clamoring grows closer, first from the left, then from the right. It's as if there are two of them in there with her, but it's really just Jerry. When he finally emerges it's by a hand pulling at the edge of the wall. Check out this feat of athleticism, he's scaling the damn thing for her.]
[ She nearly throws her knife at the hand, the only thing stopping her being the fact that it's human-shaped and the fact that he speaks right after. Instead she sighs, relieved, sliding the knife away before running a hand through her hair. ]
Yeah, it's me. [ Pause. ] Please don't fall.
[ That's an emotional response, the logical part that knows he's a vampire having been turned off for the moment. She's just happy to see him instead -- and once that wears off, she'll be impressed by that athleticism. ]
[Thank god she didn't try or else he'd have to show off then explain how he caught it. Jerry makes his climb not exactly graceful but not clumsy either. Special talent. However he doesn't join her down below, instead he takes a seat on the edge.]
Don't worry about me. Let's worry about you and get you out of there. Can you reach? [For him, obviously.]
I'm allowed to worry. If you fall and break your neck, then it's me in a labyrinth with you and your broken neck and no one's going to be happy.
[ But she's headed over to the wall, staring up at it with a frown (she hates trying to reach things on the top shelf, dammit) before trying to reach up. She's 5'1", Jerry, she might need some help here. ]
[ And then they'll... figure out some way to get him up there. Either way, she steps up onto his back, knees complaining as they rub against her jeans (they slammed into the ground with her palms when Karl knocked her feet out from under her, after all). As soon as the edge is in reach, she grabs it. ]
Working on it. [ Luckily baseball and throwing knives mean Ariadne has more upper body strength than she did when she arrived in the City, and she manages to haul herself up top, straddling the wall before looking down at him. ]
[ She will, however, let go of his hand to pop herself up onto her feet and look around from her new vantage point. Like hell she's leaving him behind, especially if Karl's still lurking around. ]
[And if it doesn't appear that way now he'll just blame it on the walls moving. The second she's not looking in his direction Jerry makes a swift leap up. He grabs the edge like a fucking parkour runner, and if she's amazed that's exactly what he's going to say it is: he once dated a hip French girl into that stuff, none of this Assassin's Creed bullshit.]
Watch it, I'm coming up. [One leg up, then the next.]
[Gurl when he was your age the most hi-tech game probably still consisted mostly of intricately carved chips and glossy marbles. Oof. Up up up and now he's crouching on top of the wall with her.]
[ It's okay, it's not like Ariadne's ever actually played Assassin's Creed herself. Video games aren't really her thing, other than casual ones like Mario Kart. ]
I've seen you naked. I don't think you have to worry.
[ Though seriously Jerry please don't fall and break your neck. ]
Is that a compliment? You have to take it easy on those.
[Don't worry if he does he'll just reset it with ease along with all the sick cracking noises that go with it. It's still not as threatening as entrails.]
[Jerry asks, not doubting her instincts or even what the guy might have already told her, but if he's a vampire...there are some things they do share in common.]
Anna's an easy target. She should be in the hospital right now -- she showed up in my room after having been tortured wherever she's from. He's bothered her before, too.
[ Pause, consider. ]
And Chekov just looks like easy prey, with his curls.

Ariadne? Is that you?
[No shit it's her, he can smell her.]

[Jerry concedes then on second thought swings his legs over to hop down into the labyrinth. Right away he kneels.]
Step up. Grab the edge tight as soon as I get you up there.

Got it.

Get all the way up. [He's pushing on her feet to help her not without a drop of vampire strength to go with it.]

Working on it. [ Luckily baseball and throwing knives mean Ariadne has more upper body strength than she did when she arrived in the City, and she manages to haul herself up top, straddling the wall before looking down at him. ]
Need help?

You can try.
[He reaches out to her, hand to hand, as he knows the likelihood of her pulling him up is next to none.]

Come on...

[Tug tug. Jerry points over the wall to the other side, up and down the lengths.]
Walk around, maybe you'll find something. Or you could just tell me how to get out, you've got the advantage now.

Excuse you Assassin's Creed is awesome.Ariadne's looking down at the ground on the other side when she hears his palms hit the wall and she looks back over, eyebrows raised. ]
You know, next time it might be easier to just bring a ladder.
[ Peering back down at the ground now -- on the non-labyrinth side. ]

It's good for the body, the exercise.
[Jerry insists as he stretches upright.]

You meet any other creeps in there?
no subject
No, just Karl. A few people were pretty cursed, a few others were just lost like I was.
no subject
[That's more of a pun than either of them know.]
no subject
[ There's a heavy frown. ]
If Karl goes after one of them...
